Nick HorowitzI have a test CSV file with this one row:
Code:
“137”,”11|9|2|6|10|4|12″
I am trying to Update the Subsidiary field on one GL account (OneWorld) with an InternalID of 137.I am using the pipe delimiter and those are InternalIDs of the Subsidiaries.
I map InternalID & Subsidiaries
I click pencil and change the reference type on Subsidiaries to “Internal ID”
I get this error message:
Unparseable Internal Id, did you mean to lookup this field by Name or External ID? for field “Subsidiaries”
It appears that NS will not accept InternalIDs delimited with pipe. Maybe the pipe delimeter method only works with the Name strings as the Reference type?
Has anyone run into this and how did you solve it?

Irma ScavelloRE: Updating the Multiselect Subsidiary field on GL Accounts
Hi Nick,
Support has reproduced. We will investigate and file defect if required. In meantime two possible workarounds I would suggest:
1. As you already noted, use the Name and make sure to place full hierarchy of each subsidiary (separate with ‘ : ‘) and then the ‘|’ to separate each subsidiary.
Example of what the subsidiary column of my csv file looked like:
Consolidated Parent Company | Consolidated Parent Company : United States Subsidiary | Consolidated Parent Company : Canadian Subsidiary
End result was the account subsidiary field now shows that it belongs to:
Consolidated Parent Company
Consolidated Parent Company : United States Subsidiary
Consolidated Parent Company : Canadian Subsidiary
2. Another workaround would be to group the accounts in separate csv files based on the different subsidiaries they are linked to and then doing the import mapping, click on the pencil icon for the ‘subsidiary’ and then check off ‘provide default value’ and select from the drop down list all the subsidiaries that should be linked to this group of accounts
Hope the above workarounds are helpful.

Irma ScavelloRE: Updating the Multiselect Subsidiary field on GL Accounts
Hi,
Support has filed following defect requesting this matter to be reviewed to and corrected or if by design to request it be changed to an enhancement to be allowed to update the mutli-select subsidiary field of the ‘Chart of Account’ by using InternalID.
Defect 173357: CSV Import> Chart of Account > Attempting to update Subisidiary multi-select field using its Internal ID โ Gives message โUnparseable Internal Id, did you mean to lookup this field by Name or External ID? for field “Subsidiaries”โ

JulieFitzI just tried importing with subsidiary names and then tried importing with internal id’s and neither one is working. I also tried it with “|” and with ” | ” (with and without spaces before and after the pipe). I know my subsidiary hierarchy is correct because the ones without multi-select are importing fine. I’m also getting the Unparseable Internal ID error when trying the internal id’s.

JulieFitzI filed a case with Netsuite support who was able to reproduce it and filed defect 191159. Now defect 191159 has been marked “Closed – Not Reproducible” and therefore NOT FIXED. NETSUITE: IF YOU CAN’T REPRODUCE IT THEN CONTACT THE USERS WHO ARE ENCOUNTERING THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THIS IS NOT FIXED.

MSantiagoHi Julie,
Our apologies, this defect will be fixed in 2011.1 therefore once you are upgraded you will be able to import successfully.
Our apologies again,
