DDewarHello-
Looking for some quick help-
There is no import of UOM in which the software we are currently using just happens to have a csv. for us to import.
So I have to manually import the data.
We purchase our RAW goods in Gallons (1 gallon and 5 gallon buckets) with fluid oz poured in to the finished product and then the Product is sold as EACH.
For example:
5 Gallons of liquid are purchased= A work order is issued as:
Create 640 each of Product number R46 1oz Moisture Gel
640 oz liquid product A (item code 114458-Moisture Gel)
640 each 1oz bottles (item code 1138-clear plastic bottles)
640 each 1oz caps (item code 1199856)
640 each 1oz Moisture Gel Labels (item code L156)
It’s so frustrating that this simple equations aren’t automatically built into this system— infact why aren’t ALL units of measure just built in and users can choose which
UOM fit their business uses.

Alannes-JêBrazilRE: UOM and BOM imports
Using Advanced Inventory you should be able to create a UOM schedule with Gallon and ounces. Your schedule should have all combinations you want to have final products sold in (1 oz, 6 oz, 12 oz and so on).
Light manufacturing allows you to create a BOM and transform you raw materials in gallons to the end products in oz. I made it work using Liters and milliliters, as well as with kilos and grams. It gets more complex when you have two or more chemicals being combined to form your final product – but it works and you should be able to keep track of your raw materials levels.
The system doesn’t have a work in progress to keep track of the stage your BOM is (in my case, we were making soap) the minute you process a BOM the system reduces your raw materials and increases your inventory quantities.
See my UOM schedule below (in Portuguese but you can get the idea) – Liter is my base unit.
Name > Plural Name >Abbreviation > Plural Abbreviation > Conversion Rate (/base) > Base Unit
Litro Litros L Ls 1 Yes
1 mL 1 mLs 1 mL 1 mLs .0001
10 mL 10 mLs 10 mLs 10 mLs .001
250 mL 250 mL 250 mL 250 mL .25
500 mL 500 mL 500 mL 500 mL .5
Galão 5L Galões 5Ls Gl. Gls. 5
Tambor 100L Tambores 100Ls Tb. Tbs. 100
Good luck.

Alannes-JêBrazilRE: UOM and BOM imports
I left out that – once I run the BOM, I create and inventory adjustment to split the final product into the quantities I want to sell, i.e. I created a bom that used up 10 liters of soap-base and ended up with 10 liters of soap, I took out 10 liters of soap and added 100 jars of soap 100 Mls. – my retail product.
It worked fine because the process is always done in batch.
