terisI know the information is IN there – but for the life of me can’t pull it into a coherent report or even a list.
The countless lists of “items” that have absolutely no bearing on anything we do.
The “items” that we do have that show up absolutely NO WHERE as a choice in those lists you need to build a report/list.
The lack user-friendly access.
It’s just crazy.
It’s in there, I should be able to pull it out easily.
I have invoices. On those invoices are Billable Time and Billable Expenses for particular employees.
I’d like a list or a report – or something – where I can go in and say:
list all of the Billable Time and Billable Expenses by Invoice by Employee (Typically there is one invoice per employee or vice versa) for this period of time.
Is that too much to ask?

Reporting-Time & Billables – Time by employee.
If you look in the global online help, check out ‘billing time to customers’ along with ‘billing expenses to customers’ This should get you started….

Thank you for responding, Angela.
The thing is – I know how to bill, etc. I’ve done that with the invoices… now I want to build a report that pulls the charges on all invoices for a particular employee for 2010 that is broken down by Billable Expenses, and by Billable Time.
Any ideas?

Sorry Angela, you missed the question. While yes you can do Time By Employee Detail (customized to filter Billed and/or UnBilled) there is no way to see the Invoice # it was billed on.
For Billable Expenses, our A/R clerk puts the ER # and date in an Items tab Description Field. It’s the only way to track where the expenses came from. The Billable Time is sort of traceable, if you use the right invoice format (include employee initials and date column). Then you can always go back to the employee record time entries to find them, or select filters appropriately on the Time by Employee Detail report.
I agree that it would save a lot of time if the Invoice # was linked into the Billable transaction.
