nathanahOver the last couple of weeks we at my office have noticed that the SuiteCloud IDE will sometimes hang when trying to use the intellisense. It will hang for a couple of minutes and then eventually open a popup that says:
“Problems During Content Assist. The ‘NetSuite Internal ID Assist’ proposal computer from ‘com.netsuite.ide.eclipse.app’ plug-in did not complete normally. The extension took too long to return from the ‘computerCompletionProposals()’ operation. To avoid this message, disable the ‘com.netsuite.ide.eclipse.app’ plug-in or disable the ‘NetSuite SuiteScript API’ category on the content assist preference page.
I disabled the content assist and that seems to help but wondered if anyone had any ideas as to what could be happening.
Thanks!
Nathan

nathanahNevermind. Disabling the content assist didn’t seem to help. It is still hanging for random reasons. Really makes the IDE borderline unusable when it will hang for 1-2 minutes. Any help would be appreciated.

JP26Sometimes this may be due to Eclipse taking up a lot of memory on your computer. This is due to the fact it constantly accumulates memory as it runs, meaning the longer its running the more processing power it’s using.
One solution could be to close and reopen the IDE and see if that has any impact.
Another could be to run the garbage collector (the little bin icon at the bottom of the window) and see if that makes a difference.

coreyI’ll second this. The latest Eclipse and plugin are miles away better than the previous version I was using, especially the debugger.

coreyI recently updated by IDE and started with the one suggested in the Help, which is 4.3.2 (Luna) and the latest IDE plugin, also suggested from Help. I then upgraded to the latest Eclipse 4.4 (Kepler) but I have seen some errors on build in the error log, so I might go back. Either one works for NetSuite work and is much better than the previous bundled version for debugging.
