I have a custom field of type "List/Record" of type "Transaction" with a filter "Type equalto SalesOrder".

On the form I have to enter "Sales Order #S111111" to search for a Sales Order.

It would be better if I could just enter the tranid: "S111111"

    Is this possible?

    Thanks!

I typically would type "%S111111" to get it to come up (wildcard search). AFAIK, there's no way on a transaction-based list/record field to only display the document number and not the transaction type as well. Perhaps somebody else will chime in with a better solution.

Aha! I was not aware wildcards were supported in those lookups.

    That'll work for now, Thanks!

Check out the NetSuite Help doc titled "Tips for Effective Global Searches" for a lot more useful info on searching. There are a few other wildcards you can employ as well, and you'll find them in that article.
