I may have missed it somewhere in here- but can anyone tell me what the difference is between “sales” and “sales orders” as far as reporting goes? We enter a sales order for every sale, so I would expect them to be the same? Am I missing something?

RE: Sales vs Sales Order Reports

Sales reports are based on sales transactions that hit the G/L, like Invoices, Credit Memos, etc. Sales Order reports show only Sales Orders.

The reports under the Sales category might more accurately be called ‘Revenue’ reports – in other words, they only reflect the posting sales transactions (cash sales, invoices). The Sales Orders category reflects the non-posting, sales order stage of those sales (if one exists, since you can also create standalone cash sales.)

I knew it had to be something silly/simple- thanks! Haile
