CyberGooHello,
We have a production and sandbox environment. In production our custom currency field only saves two decimals. In our sandbox it saves 3 decimal places. I know this because I used the export to Excel button and viewed the numbers there. Also in our production environment this causes a rounding error. All things appear to be equal (code, custom field settings) but a discrepancy exists.
We have tried to get this point across to NS but have not been able to yet.
Is there some setting somewhere in NS that sets the currency field limits on length and decimals?
This weekend we did a refresh from production to sandbox and the problem followed with the refresh. We do not know EXACTLY what happens during a refresh but would like to.
Any input would be appreciated!!!!!

CREECETry checking out: Lists -> Accounting -> Currencies
This list should have the currency records that you have. You can click on the name to see what the currency precision is set to. If it is listed at 3, it says that you must contact NetSuite Technical Support in order to get it changed to a dropdown so that you can pick your precision.
Then currency you are using in this list is selected on the Company Information page. Setup->Company->Company Information in the Currency field.

CyberGooThank you Creece!!
Under Lists > Accounting > there is no Currencies selection.
We want to have 3 decimal places in our currency as it avoids rounding errors. The production and sandbox were different until this weekend when we did a refresh from production to sandbox. The production had been 2 and sandbox was 3. Now they are both 2 decimals. Even at three decimals the display is 2 decimals but the calculations are at 3 decimals.
Do we need to contact NS support to get this Currencies pull-down added to our selections? If so what do we specifically ask for?
Many thanks again!!

zackb22Multiple Currencies has to be turned on to get that list. Setup>Company>Enable Features and check Enable Multiple Currencies under the company tab. You may not want to keep multiple currencies however.

CyberGooYes, that did it. Under Lists > Accounting > Currencies the decimal is hard coded to 2.
Before our refresh of Sandbox this weekend I am sure the currency was set to 3. However we did not know how to look at it until now. Last week our totals in Prod and Sandbox came up as pennies difference. When further looking it seems that Sandbox was storing the currency value to 3 decimals (but always displaying 2) and Prod was storing to 2 decimals. We are having a frustrating time with HS support. This week after the refresh from Prod to Sandbox both are the same. We prefer to have it set as it was in Sandbox to alleviate rounding errors.
I wonder if we can get this changed to a pull down as mentioned above to go between 0 and say, 4. It would be an interesting test.
Thank you for your help zackb22!!!
