I’ve managed to modify a sales report on a specific group of items, sorted in descending order, and including a column of “Qty currently on hand”. What I cannot get this report to show are the items within that group that I had no sales for. Checking and unchecking “show zeros” makes no changes.

I need this detail so that I can make decisions on “to restock or not to restock” certain items within this group.

Any advice or any links to any help menus I would be ever so grateful for. I’ve been trying to figure this out for years. I even have the “dummies” netsuite book.

Perhaps use an item search instead?

Item searches won’t give me a sales total, right?

    I’ve looked…..maybe it isn’t obvious.

    You can use “Transaction fields…”

Took an hr, but I finally got the item search right combination. Extremely rough, but includes all 400 items.

Now to see if I can filter this down to specific time periods.

I got the report builder to work, except it does not include those items not sold during specified periods, and I need that information in that report.

So I’m almost there on both reports.

Could someone post how this was done? I cannot comprehend why a simple sales by item report with show zeros checked doesn’t do this.

You can’t do a sales report/saved search for something that hasn’t sold, because a sale is a ‘transaction’, and there are no transactions for items that haven’t sold.

One workaround is to create a fake transaction with qty 0. See this thread.
