I’m hoping someone can point me in the right direction here. We have a Sales Rep role that needs access to create Purchase Orders. Simple enough. I have given them all of the appropriate permissions. They can create purchase orders by navigating the menus…Customer….More Transactions…Purchase Orders. However, I would like them to be able to create a Purchase Order directly from a Vendor record (via the Create New Bar) so that they don’t have to type in the Vendor Name again. However, I can’t seem to get “Purchase Order” to show up in the Create New Bar. I can add it to the Global Create New Bar next to the Global Search, but not into the Create New Bar that is inside the Vendor Form. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can accomplish that? I must be overlooking something simple. thanks for any insight.

    Hi,

What Vendor form are you making available for the Sales Rep role. When you customize this form, you will have to show the ‘Financials’ tab and then in Lists > Financials, make sure you tick on ‘Transactions’.

Refer SuiteAnswer ID: 22969 for details.

Hi Sankalp, thanks for the guidance. I customized a form for our retail store reps based on the Standard Vendor Form. I have the Financials tab shown, and under Lists > Financials, Transactions is enabled, but the Purchase Order option still does not appear on the “Create New Bar” icon within the customized Vendor Form. I’ve attached some screen shots of how the form is customized as well as the permissions that I’ve given to the Sales Rep role. Given the screenshots, do you have any other ideas? Thanks for any insights.

The "Create New" dropdown only provides options corresponding to the subtabs on your vendor entry form. Check Permissions tab > Lists subtab on the role definition page if you have Financial History permission assigned with a minimum level of "View".

This appears to be related to Enhancement 110112: Lists>Relationships>Vendors: When you customize the New Bar in the Vendor record screen, there is no option to include Purchase Order from the list of available Links. Kindly file a Support case to have it checked.

    Hope this helps.

That did the trick. Enabling “Financial History” on the Lists subtab in permissions caused the “Purchase Order” option to appear on the Vendor Form’s New Bar. Many thanks.
