We just recently purchased the ODBC driver to enable us to print out a more complicated Sales Order. However, I have had some problems getting things to work.

I started using MS Access to create the report, but when linking the tables, we have a custom field in our inventory items of type Text Area, but Access defines it as a Text field with a limit of 255 characters, and line feeds do not seem to get interpreted properly. Any ideas on how to get the data out?

As a second option, I downloaded the newest Crystal Reports and tried to create the same report, but none of the fields get populated into Crystal. For example, I created a new report, selected the Netsuite.com connection, selected the ITEMS table, but when going to the next screen to grab the fields, clicking on the + sign to expand the table does nothing (almost seems as thought the ODBC driver is failing).

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Can you access the Items table via Excel?

    RE: ODBC Text Area Field

    Ivan,

Yes, I can see the data in Excel. Also, the “Text Area” field in our Items Table does return all the information in the Cell in Excel, with line breaks included (which is exactly what I am looking for).

Now, is there someway to trick MS Access to get that Text Area field?
