tbendaDoes anybody know how to connect to multiple sandboxes with ODBC?
I have it working for our production system as well as one of the sandboxes but I need to be able to connect to our other sandbox for testing purposes. I’m guessing it’s a different host connection but the help only talks about odbcserver.sandbox.netsuite.com. I’ve tried various permutations like odbcserver.sandbox2.netsuite.com but to no avail.
Any help is appreciated.

Daniel GiguereHi Tomas,
Because the ODBC connection is based on the username and password only (not on the account number), having multiple distinct users per sandbox allows connecting to different sandboxes.
For example, user1@domain.com must appear in sandbox 1 only. user2@domain.com must appear in sandbox 2 only, and so on. Therefore, when connecting using a given user, you are guaranteed to connect to the proper account.
The only thing to watch out though, is sandbox refreshes. (users may become duplicated, and then a cleaning must happen.)
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Daniel

tbendaInteresting. I suppose it’s a simple enough solution though requiring maintenance, as you state, on each resync.
Regardless, thank you for the reply. It’s very helpful.

Daniel GiguereYou’re welcome! and please note it’s not a “give access” thing (in NetSuite user permissions…) Let’s say user1@domain.com appears in all your sandbox and you enable “give access” only in one sandbox, nah, not sufficient! that user must be deleted from other sandboxes and must exist only in the sandbox you want to use.
Have a great day,
Daniel
