I seem to be able to crash it at will simply by asking for a lot of data

I can do this with Excel and Access on 2 different PCs at 2 different locations.

Almost acts like I am crashing the NS server or something.

An hour or maybe a couple of reboots later (can’t tell which) it seems to work fine again on small tables.

I have ODBC logs captured if anybody from NS wants to look at them.

Is anybody having success with it?

    Regards,

    RE: New ODBC Driver Problems

Thank you, I’d be glad to look at the log files. Please email them to me(click on my name->view public profile->email).

Can you also file an case with your company information and what query you are running? Thanks.

    Shanon,

Try it again now… there was a problem for the last couple of weeks specifically with using MS Query and Excel, but it appears to be fixed.

There is one other quirk with Excel that we believe is a Microsoft bug: Once you enter your login, you will probably get a message that says ‘This data source contains no visible tables’ Click through, then if no tables appear in the window, click Options and check System Tables. The NetSuite tables should then appear.

Subsequently, if you initiate a new database query and see tables named like ‘OA_COLUMNS’, click Options again and uncheck System Tables. The correct NetSuite tables should then appear.

    RE: New ODBC Driver Problems

    Hi Malin,

I tried to dump my entire ITEMS table and it crashed.

So I got into Microsoft Query and queried ALL the records in my ITEMS table but asked for only a few smaller fields. The query worked fine. Then I added a few additional fields with no problems.

As soon as I added SALESDESCRIPTION, MS Query stopped responding. I’m assuming this is because it is still waiting on data but not getting any.

Another long field is STOREDETAILEDDESCRIPTION .

Also subsequent queries now fail as well.

I can’t supply any ODBC Logs until tomorrow so let me know if they were helpful.

    Thanks for the help,

    Shanon

    RE: New ODBC Driver Problems

You’ve found an issue who’s fix is currently being reviewed and approved for release. It should go live in the near future.

Thank you for your patience and assistance.
