    I've lost my mind! ๐Ÿ™‚

On a Sales Order form, the Item sublist can have two behaviors.

    1) A simple drop down box that lists the items

    2) A type ahead list where one can enter "widget" and the items starting with widget will display. Also the user can use List or Search

How does one change the behavior to #2 from #1?

    Thank you in advance!

If the number of possible entries for this field exceeds the number set for maximum entries in dropdowns preference (Home>Set Preference>Optimizing NetSuite), then the list becomes a pop-up list. Using the item field on a Sales Order as an example, if you have 200 items in your account, you would need to set this preference to at least 200. The max for this preference is 500. After that, the list cannot become a dropdown one. See Suite Answers ID 8957 for reference.

Is this handled through Set Preferences (from your Dashboard)? Under General, try playing with things like "Maximum Entries In Dropdowns" and "Type Ahead on List Fields" etc. I hope that's it.

k_dunc I never thanked you. Yes, you are correct this is handled via preferences.
