tree309We are attempting to import Open Sales Invoices into NetSuite. We would like to use the original COGS value from the previous system. Is this possible? It appears the COGS comes from the current item value.

mmarceloCOGS calculation depends on the cost of the Item at the date of the transaction.
For example, the cost of the Item as of 1/1/2016 is $100, it will also be the COGS amount on an Item Fulfillment dated 1/1/2016.
– Thus, if the current cost of the Item is $150 and the standalone Invoice that you will be imported to NetSuite is dated today, its COGS amount will also be $150. Needless to say, if you will backdate your standalone Invoice, its COGS amount may be recalculated depending on the cost of the Item at the date of the transaction.
Should you wish to reflect a different COGS amount on your current standalone Invoice other than the current cost of the Item, you would need to adjust the cost of your Item first.
– You may consider entering an Inventory Worksheet to recompute the cost without changing the current quantity.
Please note that the Adjust Inventory Worksheet is not available to numbered Items like Lot Numbered and Serialized Items.
It is very important to be aware that when using the Adjust Inventory Worksheet, if you use LIFO or FIFO costing, the cost of any Item you adjust is averaged, LIFO or FIFO is ignored, and your costing history will be lost.
Moreover, please note that if the “Transaction Order” field is set to “First in Day”, the adjusted cost will apply to all succeeding transactions on and after the date of the Inventory Worksheet.
