Does anyone know how to add a column to the Income Statement that shows the $/Unit for each line on the statement?

For example, if all of your sales are sold on a per pound (LB) basis, then management often wants to view reports (both income and expense) on a $/LB basis. For some companies this might be a per case, or a per item.

Suppose you want to show $/LB on the Income Statement. For a given period (like a month), you would divide all of the $ for each line by the total number of pounds sold that period to obtain $/LB for that line.

    All ideas/suggestions are welcomed.

RE: How to Add $/Unit Column to Income Statement/Report

I’m very interested in seeing replies to this.

I’ve been trying to think of a way to create KPIs which are based on financial ratios like Quick Ratio and Current Ratio, and haven’t been able to figure out how.

We are trying to come up with a KPI to show the Quick Ratio on a daily basis…have you been able to come up with anything in this regard?
