Ronald RobsonI would like to have 3 columns on my custom comparative income statement. Last Period, Same Period one year ago AND YTD through the end of last period. I can’t figure out how to do that last column without a custom period. But then it needs to be edited each time I run the report. Actually, I would also like to get YTD data for the previous fiscal year as well as a fourth column, but I’m probably out of luck. Thanks, Ron

KurzLahtRE: How do I get YTD data on the income statement? Bump. I haven’t been able to figure this out either. Hard to believe that you can’t do it!

leganRE: How do I get YTD data on the income statement? I think you can do this using a formula, but you won’t be able to drill into the “YTD through the end of last period” column. Here are the steps: 1. Set the period on the report to “This Fiscal Year” 2. Customise the report 3. Set the first “Income Statement: Amount” column to have an “alternate period range” as “This Period” 4. Leave the second “Income Statement: Amount” column alone, having an “alternate period range” as “Last Fiscal Year” 5. Add a third “Income Statement: Amount” column 6. Do not set the “alternate period range” for the newly added column 7. Add a formula field 8. For this new formula Choose “Formula Type” as “Difference x-y” 9. Set “x” to be the third “Income Statement: Amount” column (i.e. This Fiscal Year) 10.Set “y” to be the First “Income Statement: Amount” column (i.e. This Period)

kcatcraigRE: How do I get YTD data on the income statement? Thanks for the tips Liam. I’m not interested in the last year data since I’m working with a company that’s been in business for only a few months, but the logic fit perfectly with what I’m trying to do. I was looking for a Previous Month YTD, Current Month and Current Month YTD column. I used the formula for the Previous Month YTD column (Current Month YTD – Current Month) and that’s exactly what I was looking for.
