Damon ReadHas anyone got a method for doing Financial Report drilldown that actually works?
90% plus of the Financial drilldowns that we try to do will time out
You cant run these in the background because the system forgets the settings and tries to send you a huge report of all transactions for all accounts (then tells you again that it cant)
The only solution that I can see is to write a separate search or report everytime you want to analyse a Financial Account / Class / Department combination.
That really is impractical.

OK, lots of reads but no replies.
Not certain whether this is because no-one has a solution or because no-one has the same issue.
Perhaps some of you would be so kind as to indicate whether you have the same issue.
Cheers,
Damon

Have you always had that problem? To get a better idea, are you saying you pull up, say, the balance sheet and try to drill into an account to see the detail and it hangs? If that is the case, you need to report that bug to Customer Support. It is clearly not working as it should. There is something wrong, probably a database error.

i normally right click on the line I want to drill down on as select to open in a new tab (works both in firefox and explorer), and it gives you detail of that particular account. This way you still have your original financial report in one tab of the web browers and the drill down detail in another (you can have several drill down tabs open at the same time). I would say that this approach works about 95% of the time.

It is a customized matrix financial report.
So it is an accountant in the balance sheet but sub-categorized into just one department.
The report runs, but times out. You cant run it in the background because it doesnt remember the department settings.
