Paul FortinI am a new user to Netsuite and am in disbelief there is no monthly (MTD) and Year to date (YTD) profit and loss available in NS without creating separate reports. I also wanted to include Prior Year reporting (MTD/YTD), but obviously this is not possible either. This is a basic report in any application. I was informed by a NS trainer that I need to export to excel and manipulate the data to create the report (we all know how dangerous this can be).
When exporting Profit and Loss information to excel, conceptually there are more accounts on the YTD report than on the monthly report (if an account was used in a prior period but not in the current month). Therefore, the accounts don’t line up nicely and we have to cut and paste and manipulate the data. Is there a solution in NS to this that I am missing?
Thank You,
Paul

tthomasRE: Exporting to Excel-MTD & YTD Financial Info
Paul – the functionality you are looking for is availible, you just need to do some minor report customizing.
Customize the P/L report and add two columns with a custom range for “Previous Months this Fiscal Year” and “This Month”. There you have it…both columns on one report.
As far as the exporting to Excel with all the rows in the same place, this is a simple customization as well. Go to the More Options section, and check the “Show Zeros” box. Now when you export to Excel, it will show all accounts, whether or not they have a Zero balance.
Now, if you can figure out how to create a cash-basis balance sheet let me know!

Reviving this thread…I don’t have the Previous Months this Fiscal Year as an option.
