I created a custom CRM dropdown field that sourced from a list and filtered on 3 other fields on the form. I saw that it was a dropdown (with a single arrow) when I was done. My colleague was trying to perfect the form and somehow turned it into a list field (with a double arrow). This means the user must click on the double arrow, then click on “List” to see what’s in the dropdown. I need it to go back to being a normal single arrow dropdown to make it easier for the user. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I want the top double arrow to turn back into the single arrow beneath it:

    Thanks.

I believe that it’s based on the number of results for the list.

You can use the Maximum Entries in Dropdowns preference to force popup lists instead of dropdown lists for fields with large numbers of possible values. To set this preference, go to Home > Set Preferences. The Maximum Entries in Dropdowns field is on the General subtab. Enter the maximum number of records you want to appear in a dropdown list. If the possible values in a list exceeds this number, the list automatically becomes a popup list. If the possible values do not exceed this number, a dropdown list appears.

    Hi Lisa,

I believe David is right. Have you tried setting the preference to a lower value at all just to see if that works for you? Try a range of different numbers just to see if any of those do the trick.

I have played with the setting at a variety of numbers (including 0) to no avail. My other dropdowns were affected by the change accordingly, but not that one. It’s just so strange since we only have 10 items in the list. Even calculating for every permutation of filters for the list, it still doesn’t come close to the maximum I’ve selected. If anyone has any other ideas please let me know.

I thought I saw something in either SuiteAnswers or on this forum about a bug, but it was logged a while ago. And of course I can’t find it now.

    Thanks.
