billyboyoAnybody figured out a way to change the Sort of the Items and/or change the Columns Displayed?
We primarily use Matrix items (for footwear).
Our matrix children are basically Style-Color-Size-Width and that works well in most functions.
However, when taking a Sales Order over the phone, our Inside Sales Reps use the Add Multile button almost exclusively.
it would be better if the Items were presented in Style-Color-Width-Size order when using the Add Multiple (i.e., sequential items would be selected rather than “hunt and peck”).
It would also be useful if the color description was shown (the abbreviations are sometimes confusing – BL? Black? Blue?).
I’m trying to avoid recreating all my matrix items with Width and Size switched. In addition to the effort, that would cause a lot of other issues (customer facing, convention).
Ideally, I’d like to create a custom “item ID” field that would put the items in the proper order and use that as the sort for the Add Multiple Button.

Nina WangHi
Unfortunately, the ability to specify the sequence of matrix item name has been documented under Enhancement # 66987 Matrix items > ability to specify order of options when items are created.
Thanks,

billyboyoNina,
Thanks for the quick response but I’m a bit confused.
It seems that the defect you referenced has already been addressed (at least partially).
I am able to change the order of matrix options when creating new children via the Insert Before function under the Display tab for the Items tied to my Option Lists (at least in my 2016.1 preview, haven’t tried it in my production account).
My question was more about the ability to customize the form that pops up when I choose Add Multiple on a Sales Order. I’d like to be able to specify a sort and/or the columns displayed.
That screen doesn’t have a customize button.
Any thoughts on that?
Thanks,
Bill
