Anyone know if it is possible to change the Title of a transaction as displayed on the screen? Ideally, you could control this with a condition. For example, I would like to display the title “Bid” for Purchase Orders that are “Pending Approval”. Once they are approved, the title should change back to “Purchase Order” on the screen.

Are you referring to the Purchase Order title next to the magnifying glass at the top of the page or do you have an actual title field that you created?

You can rename record types altogether, but not conditionally. For example, you could rename the “Purchase Order” record type to always be called “Bid”. In this specific case, you could start using Purchase Request records, and rename the Purchase Request record to Bid. Once the Bid is approved, it gets transformed to a Purchase Order. See the NetSuite Help document titled “Purchase Requests” for a launching point to learn more.

Thank you for the responses, yes I am referring to the title next to the magnifying glass.

Eric – I do not see Purchase Requests in the Rename Records/Transaction screen. Is there somewhere else to change it?

Also, when you open a Purchase Request while logged in as a different role, it displays as “Purchase Order”. So, I’m thinking the displayed name must be conditional on the user’s role?

Your company would need to enable the Purchase Requests feature. It should be a completely separate record type from Purchase Order.
