I have new lines I’d like to add to an existing journal entry in Netsuite that I’d like to import (as opposed to manually entering in the new lines by editing the existing journal entry). Does anyone have any insight or experience on how this is done correctly?

    Hi,

You can do this by doing a CSV import. At the very least, you need a CSV file with a column for the Internal ID of the JE that you need to updated plus columns for Account, Debit and Credit amounts. This should only contain the lines that will be added to the JE. Once you have the file, you may follow the steps below,

1- Go to Setup> Imports/Export> Import CSV Records

2- Set Import Type = Transactions, Record Type=Journal Entry

3- Select the CSV file then Next

4- Set Data Handling = Update then click Next

5- Map the fields appropriately the run the import

RE: Append existing journal entry using import function

Thanks, was very helpful. I did not include InternalID to reference the existing JE.
