Andrew@TrajectoryIncHi Everyone,
We have a balance sheet that suddenly displays two Equity sections in the Balance Sheet. They are counted as one so the numbers are correct. However, this is very strange.
Has anyone seen or heard of this issue? Any suggestions?
Andrew

Hi Andrew,
We have had balance sheet (and P&L / Income statement) formatting issues too with some of our customers. Some we have been able to fix, and others were fixed by NS support.

ivan.parraRE: 2 Equity Sections in Balance Sheet
The standard layout does contain 2 Equity sections but each serves a seperate purpose.
The outer “Equity” section handles the summation of various equity components:
Equity(in the context of BS) = Equity Accounts + Retained Earnings(Income Statement[Balance Forward to Start Date]) + Net Income(IS[Start Date to End Date]) + Cumulative Translation Adjustment.
The inner “Equity” section is an account section that references all equity accounts(and just the accounts).
By default, the header/total label of the Equity Account Section is hidden. The layout can be modified to expose the header/total of this Equity Section.
The fix is to customize the layout, find the Equity Account Section and uncheck “display row” on header/total.
Alternatively you can rename the Equity Account Section to something else.
