We’re using Team Selling and are having problems where not all of our employees (with an assigned role tagged as ‘Sales Rep’) are appearing in the dropdown list.
We’ve got a number of people who are in a ‘Development’ Sales role (that has the ‘Sales Rep’ box ticked), but they can’t be selected in the Criteria when we want to see which opps are assigned to them. Any idea what drives names to appear on that list?
Thanks,
Brad

Hi Brad,
If you are unable to see the employee under the Sales Rep dropdown on Transactions (e.g. Opportunity, Sales Order) or Criteria on Saved Searches, ensure that Sales Role on the Employee Record (Human Resources tab > Job Information) is populated. I hope this helps.

It is populated, and that role has the ‘Sales Rep’ box ticked under CRM Lists.
In some initial testing, we’re noticing that if we change their role to the actual stock (-2) ‘Sales Rep’ role they’ll appear, but not in their custom one… I have a theory that it’s only checking the role when the field is set, and that it’s not referencing it as the roles change… changing them back to the role that wasn’t working keeps them on the list.
(Part of the problem in diving into this is that a lot of these fields related to Sales Teams aren’t tracked in System Notes, which makes looking back to what my predecessors may have done troubling.)

Hi Brad,
That is strange. I am not sure how you’ve set up the custom Sales Rep role (Setup > Uses/Roles > Manage Roles) but in testing, when I create a new Employee Record and populated Sale Role field but the Give Access = F and no assigned role on the record, I still was able to add the new employee on the Team Selling tab of the Transaction.
You may want to file a case if you think you are seeing a defect.
